On December 12 the FIDE President participated in the solemn opening ceremony of the 2nd SportAccord World Mind Games in Beijing. President Ilyumzhinov met with Mr. Hein Verbruggen, President of SportAccord. The presidents discussed the cooperation between FIDE and SportAccord, in particular the promotion of chess and its inclusion in the programme of Winter Olympic Games.
