On October 28 the FIDE President visited Protvino city, Moscow region, where he participated in the chess-intellectual event “Golden Autumn”. The event was held in the Institute for High Energy Physics, Russian Federation State Research Centre.
The opening of the chess-intellectual club “Bishop” was held in the framework of this event. On his Twitter page President Ilyumzhinov shared his impressions on the intellectual atmosphere of the holiday. “Protvino is a science center of Russia. You can feel the intellectual atmosphere in everything. And where are the science, intellect, intelligence and education, there is surely chess. The solemn opening events were followed by the FIDE President’s meeting with the organizers of the holiday and the chess amateurs, where the possibility to hold a chess tournament between the scientific cities of Russia was discussed.
