Working visit of the FIDE President to Ankara |

On 26 September 2012 the FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had an official visit to Ankara, Turkey. There he had working meetings with Mr. Hayati Yazici, Minister of Customs and Trade, Mr. Erman Ilicak, Turkish constructor and well-known billionaire, Mr. Murad Bayar, Undersecretary of Turkey's Defense Industry and Mr. Hasan Kemal Yardimci, Deputy Defense Minister of Turkey.
The Parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation on chess development. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov noted that the experience of chess implementation to the school curriculum of Turkish schools is important and could be a good model to be developed in other countries which are at the stage of introducing the FIDE project "Chess in Schools".
