FIDE_Assembly_thumbFIDE General Assembly is being held from 7th to 9th September at the Istanbul Polat Renaissance Hotel.

On the first day the Assembly approved the new FIDE Statutes with a vast voting majority.

Andrew Paulson, the founder and director of AGON, presented his program for the next World Chess Championship cycle.

The agreement between FIDE and AGON was approved by the vast voting majority.

Another notable decision of the General Assembly was the cofirmation of Mr Nigel Freeman as FIDE Executve Director.
