Working visit of the FIDE President to Paraguay |

On the November 2nd the FIDE President arrived in Asuncion, where he met with the Minister of Sports of Paraguay Paulo Reichard. The meeting was also attended by FIDE Zone 2.5 President Enrique Celi, President of the Paraguay Chess Federation Victor Manuel Salinas, and its General Secretary Julio Cesar Ingolotti as well as the Federation's Treasurer Ronald Zarza.
The FIDE President expressed his cordial gratitude to the Minister for the support he is rendering to our game, as in Paraguay the Federation has received for the first time in its history, state support which will enable the Federation to sponsor the participation of the young players from Paraguay in the forthcoming World Youth Chess Championships in Brazil. At the meeting it has been agreed that the Ministry of Sports will also support a pilot project of introduction of chess lessons in one of local schools.
In his turn, President Ilyumzhinov has shared with the Minister the latest developments in the situation with chess promotion in the world and FIDE activities.
The parties have discussed possibilities of bilateral cooperation.
