FIDE PRESIDENT AND THE GOVERNOR OF URGA EXTEND THEIR CONDOLENCES IN RESPECT OF THE TRAGEDY IN YAROSLAVL
The tragedy in Yaroslavl did not leave millions of chess amateurs of the entire world indifferent. FIDE President extended his sincere condolences to the families and friends of "Lokomotiv" hockey players and to all the fans of this sport.
- This is a grievous loss, - said Ilyumzhinov, - On behalf of the World Chess Federation and 171 national chess federations affiliated to FIDE, on behalf of million of chess amateurs and from me personally, let me extend sincere condolences in respect of this tragedy. Great matches of the multinational team from Yaroslavl will remain in the memories of their numerous fans. We are mourning together with you today!
The Governor of Ugra Natalia Komarova also shared everyone's sorrow: - There was s terrible tragedy that took the lives of outstanding sportsmen. We have had the loss that is not possible to be compensated. On behalf of all the people of Ugra let me extend my sincere condolences to the families and friends of sportsmen, to their fans and to the whole sport community.
