Dear Distinguished guests, dear players, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Good Evening!
Today the 2011 “Yin Zhou Cup” World Team Chess Championship has concluded faultlessly.
On behalf of FIDE and the Chinese Chess Association, I would like to offer my sincere congratulations to the champion Armenian team, the runner-up Chinese team and third place Ukrainian team, and indeed all the 10 teams for their excellent performances during the Championship.
I also would like to express my gratitude to all the people who worked hard for this event, to Yinzhou People's District Government and Yinzhou Sports Bureau that provided good conditions for the event and to Ningbo Sports Bureau for their great support.
In my opening speech, I said that the team championship could demonstrate the integral competitive strength of different countries. This Championship finally reflected the developing format of the strongest chess countries throughout the world.
Since the start of the Championship, the players were sparing no effort to play hard with their wits and courage. They displayed good sportsmanship and excellent skills. They produced many good games which chess fans learned from and admired.
The tournament was successful. The participating countries learn from each other. This is a good opportunity for the players to communicate and strengthen their friendship.
Dear players, led by President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, FIDE is promoting chess globally. I sincerely hope that each player can become a promoter of chess sport, a demonstrator of chess skill, an example of chess virtue and a messenger for chess culture. Our players must promote chess by their influence and appeal throughout the world.
I believe that the 2011 "Yin Zhou Cup" World Team Chess Championship will become a good memory in all your hearts. I wish you a smooth trip home tomorrow.
Chu Bo
President of Chinese Chess Association
FIDE Vice President
