On 3 June FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov met Mr. Elbegdordj Tsakhiagiin, President of Mongolia in Elista. Mr. Elbegdordj Tsakhiagiin arrived to Russia on an official visit. During the meeting the Presidents discussed the issues of chess development in Mongolia. A project of construction of a Chess Palace and Chess Academy named after Munguntuul Batkhuyag, Mongolian Woman Grandmaster, in Ulan Bator was also one of the topics of their negotiations. Mr. Zandanshatar Gombojav, Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs, President of Mongolian chess federation was also present at the meeting. President of Mongolia noted that the practice of implementing chess in schools is important. In this connection he instructed the respective bodies of Mongolia to prepare a draft of a Decree "On chess development in Mongolian People's Republic". In the frameworks of the Decree realization it is expected that chess will be included to the school curriculum in Mongolia the soonest.
FIDE President presented Mr. Elbegdordj Tsakhiagiin with a chess set made of amber. Mongolian Woman Grandmaster Munguntuul Batkhuyag was given a Kalmyk chess set.
