FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is awarded with UNESCO medal "For the great personal contribution in cooperation between the Russian Federation and UNESCO". The award to Kirsan Ilyumzhinov was presented by Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on the 23rd of March in Moscow. The award ceremony took place at the meeting of Government Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
