A Board meeting was held in Cali, Colombia from February 25th to 28th. Apart from the Board members, the FIDE Executive Director was also invited to the meeting.

The President, Mr Jorges Vega, briefed the Board on activities since the last meeting, including the Development Commission held in Bermuda, which he had attended. He also told the Board that the problems caused by the moving of the World Cup to an earlier date, had been solved.

The Treasurer, Mr Allan Herbert, reported on a healthy financial position although there were higher amounts owing by federations.

The President of the Colombian Chess Federation reported on the work to have chess included in regional games. They had succeeded to have chess included in the 2014 Bolivarian Games (Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia).

There was a review of the calendar for 2011 and it was anticipated that there would be a full programme. Organizers were already in place for almost all the events.

The FIDE Executive Director briefed the Board on the work of the Commissions, progress on the Olympiads of 2012 and 2014, Mind Games and the University Championships. He asked all federations to support the World Youth Championships that would be held in their Continent this year.
