FIDE President visits the 16th Asian Games |

FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov came to China to participate in the Opening Ceremony of the 16th Asian Games. The 16th Asian Games are taking place in Guangzhou, China from 12 to 27 November 2010. It was admitted that the Opening Ceremony of these Games is one of the most beautiful and magnificent for the whole history of sport division. The budget of the 16th Asian Games is 17 billions dollars (it is 2 billions more than the budget of the previous Olympiad in London!) Chess is represented in the program of the Asian Games for the second time. Players from 45 countries will compete for 4 set of medals in individual and team tournaments. On Saturday 13 November Kirsan Ilyumzhinov is invited to meet at breakfast with the President of International Olympic Committee Mr. Jacques Rogge.
