FIDE President visits Dubai, UAE |

On 18-20 October 2010 FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a working visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. There he had a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of UAE Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the topic of the conversation was the implementation of chess in schools and in institutions of higher education. FIDE President told of the results of the FIDE Congress 2010 in Khanty Mansiysk, Russia and of his plans as FIDE President to the next presidential period. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan congratulated Kirsan Ilyumzhinov on the re-election to FIDE President post. He added that UAE will make every effort to develop this noble game among the pupils and students. Also they spoke of making the Chess Center in Dubai with hotel complex, in Dubai Marina region. Besides, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a meeting with the President of Tatarstan Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov there. The Parties discussed the questions connected with holding the Candidate Matches in April, 2011. They spoke of chess competitions during the World Student Games 2013 and of making the Chess Center in Kazan. The Presidents agreed that the FIDE delegation will come to Kazan with working visit in nearly future.
