FIDE regrets to announce that the Danish Grandmaster Bent Larsen passed away on Thursday September 9th, in six months after his 75-years birthday. Larsen was born on March 4th, 1935 in Thisted a small village in Jutland, Denmark and died on September 9th, 2010 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was an outstanding player, challenger for the world championship title in 60-70 of the last centure, one of the brightest and original players in the history of chess.
