Bids for Chess Olympiad 2014 |

At the close of bidding for the Chess Olympiad 2014 on April 30th, the FIDE Secretariat had received two offers to host the event.
Bulgarian Chess Federation bids to host the event in the Varna Region from September 20th to October 4th 2014.
Norwegian Chess Federation bids to host the event in Tromso from August 1st to August 14th 2014.
In addition, both federations are bidding to host the World Cup in 2013 as part of their overall package.
The selection of the venue for the Chess Olympiad, 2014 will be taken by delegates at the General Assembly in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia later this year.
