Working visit of FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov to Beijing |

On August 14, 2009, the official delegation of the Republic of Kalmykia visited the People's Republic of China. During the visit in Beijing the Head of Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov held the negotiations with the Chinese corporation "Sinohydro", during which the issues of cooperation between the Government of Kalmykia and "Sinohydo" corporation in the implementation of construction projects of Manych channel were discussed.
As a result of the negotiations an Agreement of intent, which includes the participation of Chinese corporation in this project, was signed. It was signed by the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov and the General Director of "Sinohydro" corporation San Tszisyan.
In addition, the Agreement of intent provides the participation of Chinese corporation in the construction of wind power plants on the territory of the Republic of Kalmykia.
