The President of FIDE comes to M-Tel Masters for a meeting with the board of the Grand Slam
Kirsan Ilyumzhinov will make the first move in the game Dominguez – Topalov from the 8th round of the competition
(Sofia, 20 May, 2009) The President of FIDE Kirsan Ilyumzhinov comes to M-Tel Masters for a meeting with the board of directors of the chain of chess tournaments Grand Slam. At the meeting will be discussed opportunities for collaboration between FIDE and the chain. Ilyumzhinov will arrive in Sofia by invitation from the director of M-Tel Masters and executive director of the Grand Slam Silvio Danailov.
The President of FIDE will also make the first move of Leinier Dominguez in his game against Veselin Topalov from the 8th round of the competition, which will start at 16:00 local time on 21 May.
It is expected that Ilyumzhinov will land in the Bulgarian capital tomorrow at 11:40 with flight of Aeroflot and will stay in Bulgaria till the next day. Guests of this year's edition of M-Tel Masters are already the Deputy President of FIDE Georgios Makropoulos and the Vice President of FIDE Zurab Azmaiparashvili.
