FIDE President's visit to Armenia |

On March 2 the Head of Republic of Kalmykia, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Yerevan on invitation of the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsian.
During the visit Kirsan Ilyumzhinov had a meeting with the Head of Republic of Armenia. The issues of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for interaction between FIDE and the Chess Federation of Armenia have been discussed.
Serzh Sargsian informed FIDE President on the progress of the Chess Federation of Armenia and the introduction of chess in school curriculum in Armenia.
FIDE President is planning to inspect the venue of the next stage of the FIDE Grand Prix, which will be held in Yerevan in August 2009.
