FIDE and Global Chess will introduce many changes to the FIDE website in the first quarter of 2009 and readers would have already noticed we have been making incremental changes to the front page and menus.

This process will be complete in the next few days and ask for your patience should there be some broken links, etc.

We have also built a Chess"Wiki"pedia and would like to put this up as soon as possible and our challenge is to put relevant and accurate information into it as while it is no problem to write about the Laws of Chess, FIDE & Organisations, etc., we cannot for example do a good job writing about a National Chess Federation and its activities.

So we need help from chess historians, journalists, local chess enthusiasts, etc. as well as the cooperation of federations, organisers, players, and other friends of chess to help us put together a definitive history of chess!
