The World Women Chess Championship has reached the quarter final stage after the remaining two Chinese representatives, Hou Yifan and Shen Yang, both survived tie-breaks to join the colleagues Alexandra Kosteniuk, Anna Ushenina, Koneru Humpry, Lilit Mkrtchian, Stefanova Antoaneta and Pia Cramling.
