Armenia Wins against Turkey and Takes Lead Followed by India Print

Three rounds of World Under-16 Chess Olmypiad being held between 16-25 August in Mersin, have been concluded after which where Armenia took the lead by grounding down Turkey-A with a 3-1 win. Armenia has 10.5 points followed by India having 9.5 points. India defeated  the top seeds Russia with a heavy 3.5-0.5 win Turkey followed by a 3-1 win over Azerbaijan  led by GM Eltaj Safarli. Philippines led by the highest rated player of the event GM Wesley So and Georgia drew and have 9.5 points. Turkey-A has 8.5 points and at the fifth place.  There are totally 125 players from 19 different countries and an aggregate of 27 teams participating.
