Presidents of IOC Recognised IFs
Lausanne, 18 April 2008 Ref. No. 2008/CCHD/clcn Fax and e-mail Responses to IOC Questionnaire
Dear President, We would like to congratulate you and thank you most sincerely for the tremendous work you accomplished in order to complete the Questionnaire for IOC Recognised International Federations. Further to a comprehensive review of all documents submitted, we are pleased to inform you that all the IOC Recognised IFs will maintain this status. For those IFs where the criteria are not fully met, the IOC Sports Department will provide information to assist you in order to achieve full compliance. The IOC will organise individual meetings with each Recognised IF present at the SportAccord in Athens, 2-6 June 2008 or any other occasion that occurs. Jean-Laurent Bourquin will contact you to arrange meetings with those IFs attending SportAccord from 1-5 June. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that upon the proposal of its Programme Commission the IOC has retained five sports to be studied in further detail in the context of the revision process of the Olympic Programme 2016. These sports are karate, golf, squash, roller sports and rugby along with baseball and softball currently holding Olympic sport status. Thank you once again for the important work undertaken and your valuable collaboration. Yours faithfully, Christophe Dubi Sports Director Please download the PDF format version.
