The FIDE World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships among open section and girls section under 14, 16, and 18 years old were held in Halkidiki from 17th to 19th of October.
FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich visited the event and made a first symbolic move in the game Limanovska-Shuvalova (Girls U-18).
FIDE President attended the closing ceremony of the World Youth Rapid and Blitz Championships and presented awards to the winners. Top three places in each tournament were awarded with cups and medals.
