Chess Festival Easter in Crete 2003 |

 The match between the World Woman and the Greek Champion is expected to be extremely interesting.
Once again everybody is looking forward to Chess Festival Easter in Crete 2003, organised by KYDON SPORTS CLUB and KAISSA OF RETHYMNO, in association with the Greek Chess Federation, which will be held in Chania from the 18th to the 24th of April.

This year the presence of four great stars will be the main attraction in Crete, which will be again in the center of both the panhellenic and the world chess interest. We are talking about the World Woman Champion, Chinese WGM Zhu Chen, and her husband, captain of Qatar National Team, GM Mohamed Al-Modiahki, as well as the Greek Champions and chess players of KIDON SPORTS CLUB GM Giannis Papaioannou, the top Greek chess player, and WGM Maria Kouvatsou, World Girl Champion in 1999.
The World Woman Champion and the Greek Champion will compete in a demonstration match of four rounds, which will take pklace in CRETA PARADISE Hotel in Gerani, Chania on the 20th and 21st of April. This is an extremely interesting match as far as its outcome is concerned and is expected to rivet thousands of friends of this top mental sport, who will watch its process live either close or through the Internet.
Moreover, within the Chess Festival, the World Girl Champion, Maria Kouvatsou, will participate in a simultane demonstration game on the 22d of April, competing against more than 20 opponents simultaneously.
At the same time at two-day refereeing seminar will be held. |
