ASEAN Youth Championship in Brunei Print

The 4th edition of these Championships took place in Brunei from 20th to 25th December. A total of 224 players from 7 countries in Southeast Asia competed in 12 categories from U8 to U18; girls and girls. Vietnam took the overall medal tally for the 4th straight year. The tournament is the brainchild of ASEAN Chess Confederation president Ignatius Leong. The 4th edition of these Championships took place in Brunei from 20th to 25th December. However, their dominance has been narrowed by Singapore which won 10 gold medals compared to one gold they won last year. Notice is that Singapore captured most of the gold medals in the lower age-groups. The tournament is the brainchild of ASEAN Chess Confederation president Ignatius Leong.
