The 2018 Isle of Man Chess International is taking place from 20-28th October at the Villa Marina in Douglas. The event is featuring three sections: Master, Major and Minor. The Master section is filled to its capacity with an impressive field, including 20 Grandmasters rated over 2700 elo. The first three rounds produced a number of major surprises with top rated players dropping points to a much lower rated opposition. Six players are leading with perfect score: GM Vachier-Lagrave Maxime FRA 2780, GM Wang Hao CHN 2722, GM Naiditsch Arkadij AZE 2721, GM Xiong Jeffery USA 2656, GM L'ami Erwin NED 2639 and GM Tregubov Pavel RUS 2588. GM Giri Anish NED 2780, GM Kramnik Vladimir RUS 2779, GM Anand Viswanathan IND 2771 and GM Nakamura Hikaru USA 2763 are on two points each. GM Eljanov Pavel UKR 2703 is on 1,5.
