Viktor Kupreichik Memorial started in Minsk

The International Rapid Chess Tournament “Memorial tournament in honour of Viktor Kupreichik” takes place from 21-23rd June 2018 in the Palace of Sports at the address: Minsk, pr. Pobediteley 4.

The Open tournament is 11-round Swiss event with 101 participants from 9 federations. Among them are 12 Grandmasters and 10 International Masters.

After the first 8 rounds leaders are GM Andreikin Dmitry RUS 2733, GM Kovalev Vladislav BLR 2631, GM Korobov Anton UKR 2736, GM Mamedov Rauf AZE 2711 and IM Nikitenko Mihail BLR 2401 with 6,5 points each.

On the same dates a round robin tournament of 13 friends and colleagues of Kupreichik takes place. After ten rounds GM Valery Chekhov RUS 2413 is leading with 7 points, half a point ahead of GM Andrei Kovalev BLR 2458.

At the opening ceremony, a movie with unique materials about Viktor Kupreichik has been shown.
