Dear Chess friends,

In honor of the independence day of Suriname (November 25), and after the enormous success of the previous Srefidensi tournaments, the Surinaamse Schaakbond will organize the 5th Srefidensi Chess Celebration tournament, from Monday, November 20th, 2017 until Sunday, November 26th, 2017.

This international chess tournament will consist of a Master and an Open class.

It is our intention to have a very strong participation in the Master Class based on a playing strength >2200 ELO rating and personal invitations.

The Organizing Committee will cover the travel (economy class air ticket) and hotel expenses (based on double occupancy) of the players for the Master class holding a FIDE title GM/WGM with an ELO rating>2200.

The tournament format in the Master class will be 9 (nine) round Swiss and in the Open class it will be 7 round Swiss. We hereby invite you to come to Suriname and participate in our 5th Srefidensi international Chess Celebration in Paramaribo, Suriname.

We hope to welcome you in our beautiful country Suriname.
