The World Youth Championship will be held in Vung Tau, Vietnam from 19 to 31 October 2008.
Participants are now starting to arrive and so the organisers are posting the following general
information

1. GENERAL INFORMATION
The following information will be useful to all participants including parents,
coaches and accompanying persons during their stay in Vung Tau.


2. REGISTRATION

2.1 All participants are required to register with the event secretariat office after you have checked into their hotel.
Accreditation cards to the playing venue will be issued upon registration.
Without your accreditation card pass, you will not be allowed into the playing venue.

2.2 The event secretariat office is located on the second floor of Vung Tau P&T Hotel (also known as Buu Dien Hotel).
The hotel is located along Ha Long road. Please refer to map given.

2.3 The event secretariat office is open from 9:00am – 6:00pm from 17th – 31st October 2008.

2.4 Buses will commute between the hotels and the event secretariat office from 9:00am – 6:00pm every one hour interval.


3. HOTELS – BOARD & LODGING

3.1 All buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the cost of accommodation in the hotels.

3.2 Buffet breakfast will be served from 7:00 – 9:30am.

3.3 Buffet lunch will be served from 12:00noon – 2:00pm except for Wednesday 22nd October from 1:00 – 3:30pm.

3.4 Buffet dinner will be served from 7:00 – 9:30pm except for the following days:

Opening Ceremony: 5:30 – 6:30pm for those wanting an early dinner and from 9:00 – 10:00pm for those wanting a late dinner.

Wednesday 22nd October: 8:00 – 10:00pm.

Social Nite: 6:00 – 7:15pm.
Closing Ceremony: 8:00 – 9:00pm.

4. TRANSPORT TO/FROM HOTELS – PLAYING VENUE

4.1 The playing venue is the Vung Tau Sports Stadium.

4.2 All official hotels are situated within a radius of maximum travel time of 10 minutes to the playing venue.

4.3 The organisers will provide air-conditioned buses to pick up participants from their hotels
to the playing venue and back.

HOWEVER, it is the responsibility of the players to get to the playing venue on time for their game.

4.4 Opening Ceremony (7pm start): Buses will depart from 6:30pm.

4.5 Technical Meeting (9am start): Buses will depart from 8:00 – 8:30am.

4.6 Morning Rounds (10:00am start): Buses will depart from 9:00 – 9:30am.

4.7 Afternoon Rounds (3:00pm start): Buses will depart from 2:00 – 2:30pm.

4.8 4th Round (5:00pm start): Buses will depart from 4:00 – 4:30pm.

4.9 Social Talent Nite (8:00pm start): Buses will depart from 7:15 – 7:45pm.

4.10 Closing Ceremony (6:00pm start): Buses will depart from 5:00 – 5:30pm.

4.11 Buses back to hotels from playing venue: Shuttle bus services operate half-an-hour after starting time and at 15 minutes interval.

4.12 Departure of Delegations (31st October): Air-conditioned coaches will depart from
your hotel to Ho Chi Minh City airport at 1 hour interval from 8:00am – 12:00noon.
Estimated travel time is about 3 – 3.5 hours.
Please allocate sufficient time to cater for peak hour traffic and check-in time at the airport.

Thursday 23 October: 15:00: 5th round

Friday 24 October: 15:00: 6th round and Social Talent Nite

Saturday 25 October: Free day

Sunday 26 October: 15:00: 7th round

Monday 27 October: 15:00:8th round

Tuesday 28 October:15:00:9th round

Wednesday 29 October:15:00:10th round

Thursday 30 October: 10:00: 11th round,18:00: Closing Ceremony

Friday 31 October: 12:00: Departure of Delegations


6. CANTEEN SERVICE AT VUNG TAU SPORTS STADIUM

Food and beverage will be on sale at the canteen at Vung Tau Sports Stadium.


7. EVENT SOUVENIRS

Limited stock souvenir T-shirts and watches are available for sale at the event secretariat office.


8. SHOPPING & SIGHTSEEING

Please check with your hotel.

11. SETTLEMENT OF ACCOUNT (IMPORTANT!)

Heads of delegations are kindly requested to contact the event help desk
to arrange for a date and time to settle their accounts.
Accounts must be settled between 21st – 23rd October 2008.
Late penalty charges will apply after 23rd October 2008.


12. SETTLEMENT OF MISCELLANEOUS
Please settle any miscellaneous items with your hotel. For example laundry, mini-bar, ala-carte meals, etc.
